Over the years the Bass Cellar has been in business one of the most popular basses that we sell are the basses by Abraham Prescott. They rarely last more than a week in our shop before being sold. For those of you who are not familiar with this maker, Prescott worked in New Hampshire, USA in the early 19th century. The instruments are prized by players in almost every major orchestra in the United States.

After numerous restorations and repairs on these instruments I have developed a copy that I feel has the power, playability and overall satisfaction to match the originals. I have altered certain parts of the instrument to be compatible with the demands of the modern bass player. My aim was to give you the most sounding cavity and power possible and still be able to perform any type of music. All of the wood and the fittings on this bass are of the absolute finest quality.
